How to perform Bluetooth pairing with an Android phone
Prepare Phone
Android 2

  1. Enter Settings
  2. Enter Wireless & networks
  3. Enter Bluetooth settings
  4. Press button next to Discoverable
  5. Now the phone is ready

Android 4
  1. Enter Settings
  2. Enter Bluetooth
  3. Press the phone name to make phone discoverable
  4. Now the phone is ready

Android 5
  1. Enter Settings
  2. Enter Bluetooth
  3. Now the phone is ready

Windows 7
  1. If Bluetooth icon not is available in task bar press button to show hidden icons.
  2. Right click on Bluetooth icon and select Add a Bluetooth Device
  3. Press the device you want to connect to.
  4. Press the Pair button
  5. If the same number appears on PC screen and on phone accept pairing on PC by pressing Yes and Pair on phone.
  6. Now the PC and phone are paired.
Windows 8
  1. If Bluetooth icon not is available in task bar press button to show hidden icons.

How to prevent Bluetooth module from beeing turned off

  1. Open device manager and locate Bluetooth devices. Note that the name of this may be different than showed in the screen shot below.
  2. Right click and select properties.
  3. In tab Power Management uncheck the box for "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" and press OK.


How to change to Microsoft Bluetooth stack
Most new windows computers comes with Microsoft drivers for the Bluetooth radio, but if you are stuck with another driver (Widcomm, Toshiba, Bluesoleil etc) you can sometimes change to Microsoft.

How to enable USB debugging in Android phone
Android 2.3
Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging.

Android 4.1
Settings > Developer Options > USB Debugging.

Android 4.2-4.4

  1. Open the settings
  2. Select "About Phone"
  3. Scroll down and then start to repeatadly press on "Build number"

  4. After a few press you will be notified about how many more that is needed to enter developer mode.
  5. When you get message "You are now a developer" return to settings by pressing back.
  6. Now there is a new option in settings "Developer options". Press that
  7. Turn on developer options and activate "USb debugging"

Android 5
  1. Open the settings
  2. Select "About Phone"
  3. Scroll down and then start to repeatadly press on "Build number"
